Iron condults
Problem:
Until the end of the 70ies and partly even after that, galvanised
iron pipes were
almost exclusively used for domestic installations.
Lime and other impurities have a tendency to settle on the
relatively rough inner surface of these pipes. Depending on the water quality,
these pipes start to rust and fur up from inside.
Solution:
WELLAN 2000 stops this process and even reverses it. Depending
on the extent
and regularity of water flow and volume a degradation of these incrustations
takes between 6 and 24 months. After the degradation of
the deposits the bright metal reappears. This metal is subsequently provided
with a protective coating, the
so-called hammer scale (saturated iron oxide).
By this measure the pipe is protected again from further rust corrosion.
